Stowaway Bride Finally Reveals Herself

I absolutely loved writing my historical romance, Stowaway Bride, but the publisher placed such a high price on the ebook version as well as the paperback version, I couldn't bring myself to promote it to any degree.

I've recently noticed that the Kindle version is on Amazon for just £3.16 - a much healthier price, and one I'm happy to ask people to consider buying if they are looking for a romance set on the high seas.

Stowaway Bride tells the story of Ruby Baxter, a baker's daughter who believes she has met the man of her dreams - a merchant trader named Akram. It's 1817, and after a whirlwind romance she and Akram are sailing to Morocco where they will marry and live.  Ruby's one regret is leaving behind the family she adores.

The voyage is a nightmare - the storms, the food and the facilities all prove unbearable. As for the ship's captain, Tobias Sutherland, he and Ruby are soon at loggerheads. She finds him arrogant. He finds her extremely foolish for embarking on such a perilous journey on a merchant ship, with a man she has known only a very short time. Yet there is no denying the underlying attraction that has sparked between Ruby and Captain Sutherland.

As for Akram, his attitude towards Ruby has changed alarmingly - he seems to have placed her high on a pedestal and all her hopes for romance on this voyage crumble to nothing. Only when arriving in Morocco, and turning away from the Captain, his ship - and her one  chance of returning home, does she discover Akram's betrayal. His true intentions become evident and Ruby's dreams are shattered forever. But as her grandmother would say - You've made your bed, now you must lie in it.

Betrayed, broken-hearted, pennyless and fearful for her life, Ruby makes a dash for freedom - her one hope being that there will be a ship in the harbour willing to take her back home.

*  If you do read Stowaway Bride by Ann Carroll, it would be so appreciated if you could leave a review on Amazon and here on Goodreads.
